Gary Eugene Beem passed away at home on Wednesday, February 15, 2012. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 pm. Saturday, February 18, 2012 at Peterson Funeral Home in Carlisle with burial to follow in Palmyra Cemetery. Family and friends visitation will be held Friday evening from 5-7 pm. at the funeral home.
Gary was born on April 10, 1947 to Carroll and Wilma Beem in Des Moines, Iowa. Gary graduated from Tech High School and went on to work as a painter for the AMF Corporation. Gary loved being with his grandchildren, fishing and working on cars. Gary is survived by his son Mike Beem of Des Moines; Brothers Kenny(Donna)Beem of Ankeny & Larry(Lollie)Beem of Des Moines; Grandchildren Michael Beem, Mikel Beem, Johnny Coleman and Melissa Coleman; Great-Grandchildren Rhyelynn Beem, Devyn Rice and Hunter Coleman. Gary was preceded in death by his parents and his wife Donita. In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be given to Gary's family.
